Danger of not using your camera at a fun function... not having a group picture to show for it.
This Tuesday we had dinner at the eatery to celebrate my birthday and it was just a nice time with good friends. I was given really pretty flowers and coupled with the crown t was like i had won a pageant... so here i am pretending to have just been crowned, holding my flowers as the voice of william shatner sings She's beauty and she's grace, she's Miss United States (haha LOL)

Day 90/365 (November 16, 2008)
This is a picture i took of the stage... it would have been better but i couldn't very well ask the two in front of me to please sit so i could take a better picture of the stage now could i? I placed the image of the poster on the picture for a better identifier.
Let me just tell you how much i loved this PLAY! I waited at the Atlantic (and surrounding area) for forever! At five minutes before "curtain" I was able to get a rush seat... 4th row, not to far away from the center. It was seriously the perfect seat... i walked in and my first thought was i love the set design! I don't like plays very much, and i certainly am not into politics! i mean in college i could have gotten a political science minor with all the law classes i took, but since i refused to take any political core requirements that was not a possibility.
My basic expectation for this play was that i would be bored out of my mind, but at least i would get to see Gallagher in a new role. I thought Port Authority was well done, but i also know i could not have seen it more than once, let alone the 4 times i did, if he were not in the cast.
I have never enjoyed a play like this before. It ended with my feeling excited, something i never thought possible for a play. Each actor did a superb job, and the way the set worked was really all kinds of awesome, and i loved the "edgy" scene transitions. I wanted to see it again that night (but i already had plans) and i fully plan on seeing it again, this time with Sasha in tow.
I love "evil" characters and manipulation and that was so this show. There were two characters that executed this brilliantly. One was out in the open, and the other completely underhanded. You didn't realize how truly manipulating the character of Tom was until he revealed himself... and then there was Stephen who went completely crazy when his whole world unraveled and he took everyone down with him that he could. Yes this was a great show!
there were only two things i would change:
1. Gallagher's character name... the name itself was fine, but the nickname they kept using well i just don't like it, and it bothered me to hear
2. At first i thought that Chris Noth's character was the presidential hopeful, which i just didn't buy. A little later i realized that he was just another higher up person on the campaign team, and then everything he did/said made perfect sense.
As a random note: i don't have a picture with Gallagher because i still don't feel the need to. How can one want another picture when you already have the perfect picture from 10 months ago?

Day 89/365 (November 15, 2008)
Day 88/365 (November 14, 2008)
You know what is great about seeing shows that people are in after they have left another show? if you go to a first preview performance of that new show you run into all the people you met from that original show... in this case Spring Awakening.
I found out i was going to see the new show that Jonathan Groff is in called Prayer For My Enemy... and within 24 hours realized a bunch of people i knew would also be there... and of course ran into some others there too.
I took this picture with him because well i liked his hair?! idk if that is a good enough reason but i still like it.
and it is nice to know i am not the only one who never gets a new coat :)

Day 86/365 (November 12, 2008)
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!I love marshmallow fluff and have the hardest time finding it in stores in NYC… but oh I found it at my new favorite local grocery store (even if the lines are too long). It was with the peanut butter, on the floor hidden behind a display for something else… but I found it and made a fluffernutter sandwich! The only acceptable way for peanut butter consumption in my opinion… if you look close at the craptastic quality of this picture you can see it is one part peanut butter and 2-3 parts fluff…. It has been my um “dinner” the past two nights.
Day 85/365 (November 11, 2008)
Day 84/365 (November 10, 2008)
Day 83/365 (November 9, 2008)
I went to the TRU Love Benefit honoring Ken Davenport (seen above) and some other woman… I feel bad I don’t remember her name since she seemed pretty awesome! It was a really nice way to spend the afternoon, I met some interesting new people, and I had FIVE Shirley Temples… oh my goodness I was so hopped up on sugar! (TRU stands for Theatre Resources Unlimited… I remembered that!). It was also nice to hear the current cast of Altar Boyz sing a song that was cut from the show called Leading The Way. It was very pretty and I am glad I got to hear it :D
After it was over I went to Sasha/Nick/Matthew’s place to wait for Sasha to get out of the closing of Tale… and I took a very nice nap!

Day 82/365 (November 8, 2008)
Oh this was a special day… first I lost the Shrek lotto then Sasha and I embarked on our crazy mission! We drove to Brooklyn to see Marty in his play, then drove back to get Sasha to see Tale Of Two Cities at 2 pm… well cross-town traffic is MURDER and she ended up being late… so she vacated her car to run (in the rain) to the theatre and I hopped over to find a place to park it. Driving in NYC is really all kinds of stressful and I forget how annoying we can be as pedestrians… I tried to be nice after I parked the car but it only lasted a few streets, oops! But I found it entertaining that I was driving a “little bug” so I thought it only right to rock out to Little Bug by The Spring Standards :D
But it is fun to drive sometimes!

Day 79/365 (November 5, 2008)
Day 78/365 (November 4, 2008)
OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We found out who won when we heard screams of obama from outside our window. So we changed the channel and sure enough. Hearing the massive excitement and screams of people running up and down the street and hanging outside their windows… I have never been more proud to call NYC/Harlem my home. I tried to get a picture of someone, but it didn’t work out… this was just before I climbed out onto our fire escape to take part.

Day 77/365 (November 3, 2008)
Ahhh! So I finally saw Spring Awakening since the massive cast change in July. It was interesting to see it again. I just yea it was crazy to see. After at Stage Door I had to get my “Moritz” pose with Gerard and a picture with Hunter. Seriously between Mary, Roxy, and Sasha we had a great night… Hunter even said we could take him back to Sasha’s place, which of course we didn’t. It was also funny because there is only one other person I have ever seen Sasha go all fan-girly over and that was Josh Strickland, but Hunter Parrish made her go batty!

Day 76/365 (November 2, 2008)
Went to the NYMF awards gala to see the original NYMF cast, and current cast of Altar Boyz perform. I also was able to see Josh Strickland sing a song from the NYMF show he did, a few other of those shows perform, and Raul Esparza sing Why from tick, tick… BOOM. That was really an incredible thing to watch, and I wish I could have preserved it on film. It was really fun to see both casts of Boyz perform. The current cast was fun because they were only accompanied by a piano (woot Gary Adler) and they sang We Are The Altar Boyz which is a song that has so many things going on… stripped down was different and they did a great job! Of the few pictures I was able to take this was one of my favorites because of its overall composition, and it wasn’t too blurry! The original NYMF cast sang I Believe and I am so happy I was able to see that, and the fact that they still put so much passion and energy into it really just warmed my heart! (see above)
Day 75/365 (November 1, 2008)
Day 74/365 (October 31, 2008)
Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last minute (well five days before) I decided I was going to rock out as Punky Brewster. I loved the idea and I think I pulled it together pretty nicely. Met up with Sasha and Krysta, Andrew, Jon, and Stef to see Things to Ruin (Joe Iconis) and it was super great… then Sasha, Krysta, and I ended up at Mostly Sondheim for their Halloween bash. There was no better way to spend the dwindling minutes of Halloween and the wee early hours of Nov. 1 than to be there enjoying everything!

Day 73/365 (October 30, 2008)
So Krysta and I went to see Michael Arden sing Joni Mitchell’s Blue Album.. it was seriously some of the most beautiful sounding performances ever. I hope he does something like this again sometime in the relative near future… perhaps when Sasha is back because she would love it!
I made sure that I took this picture right before midnight since it crossed over into Friday.
As a personal note of giddiness at the end of the show he wanted us to give the band a round of applause and he saw me literally giving a round of applause, and said that was good, copied me, then gave me double thumbs up :D
