this is my clock, it puts time on the ceiling... the only way to see what time it is at night! In fact i am so used to loking up sometimes when people ask me what time it is my first instinct is to look at the ceiling, no matter where i am.
i got up and headed out to Broadway in Bryant Park... today The Little Mermaid, 9 to 5, Toxic Avenger, and Pure COuntry were performing. IT was a sunny day but i was armed with a bottle of water and a thing of sunscreen. I am so fearful of the sun and burning so i put more on like every thirty minutes and kept asking if my face was turning red! I was excited when i got there and saw Chris saving a bunch of seats so i joined him and he was very good company to have. the morning was lots of fun but really? OK so 9 to 5 was exciting but they only sang two songs (beautifully done) but why didn't they sing 9 to 5? I also think it is awesome allison janey came and did the park since some people are too diva to do it, however i wish her understudy had because i would love to hear the songs sung by three outstading vocalists.... i do love her acting dont get me wrong, but she just cant sing. pure country is supposedly coming to broadway in the spring, i dont like country so it wont be a show i will see (unless casting dictates otherwise) but the guy who performed had an incredible voice and was cute to boot! the girl had to read from the sheet music but sounded great.
Toxic Avenger, this was my first exposure to it and it seemed like it must be the fun musical everyone says it is but two of the songs sounded the same and some of the same lyrics so i was like huh? but the guy who co-wrote it and is part of Bon Jovi was there to introduce them, then joined in the last song towards the end and i was like oh i wish dawn were here. the other show that performed was the little mermaid... once again this year brian d'dario (spelling is wrong there) stole the show, there is no question in my mind that he has a bright career ahead of him i mean how many others are that professional and killer at such a young age? Let's talk Drew Seeley. i was excited to see him perform because um hello CUTIE! and he does have a nice voice... in the end he did sound amazing but i was so dissapointed because he sang the new popified version of her voice. yes it is a fun song, but in the musical Her Voice is one of the most beautiful songs and if that is what i was going to hear i would have wanted to hear the musical version not the pop version... and this is broadway in bryant park after all, not pop concert in bryant park! i understand reasoning behind it... i am sure disney spent a ton of money producing that one song so why not use it, but STILL!!!!
after it was over chris and i took a walk to the times square visitor center because he wanted to pick up a few of the show fliers and stuff and i was able to look in a mirror there and be reassured that i had not gotten sun burnt!
then i headed home and got some lunch, where i cut my gums on a peach pit, and there was blood and it hurt! it was a tame sort of day at this point, though i did a bunch of dishes. WHen krysta came home she cooked us a truly scrumptious dinner and we had a yummy dessert of brownies and ice cream. Eventually i got ready and headed out to TOL for some karaoke.
the nights was lots of fun and it was very exciting to have had some many friends there at one point or another. Kim, Susie, and Jo were there when i arrived and shortly thereafter Joey turned up. Before the night ended Andrew had even popped in! (and a few others). The night was filled with lots of karaoke from me... best part is i made it through the night without singing any britney spears even if there were protests about that. it was just a fun and lovely night :D Kim and i walked to the subway together and then i went home and fell asleep!
