Day 342/365 (July 26, 2009)

didnt do much today. i made pancakes and then krysta and i headed to the dog run with tucker on 72nd. right before we got there this random old lady was screaming "bitch bitch bitch" at this little kid... hilarious! anywho we got there and it was much nicer than the one on 137th... and of all the dogs there was this tiny little yorkie who was my favorite and he spent some good time with me while i was petting him. then there was this cute little fluffy poofball of a dog that kept hopping up on my lap for me to pet her. eventually i got bored and tired and headed home.

i was so very tired and after a little lunch i ended up passing out for an almost 3 hour nap.. though it was of the keep waking up and falling asleep... while napping i had a really funny dream. Xanadu had opened again but it wasnt the same production we all know and love... oh no it was redone and the songs were different at times... anyway me and a few friends were watching from the back row, and stupid suze and not stupid jesse, were sitting with us. i kept changing my seat to sit next to her and annoy her and then at one point (because of audience participation) they handed suze a microphone and as a song played she got up and made her way to the stage singing a bunch of heys and ohs... and jesse leaned over and was all "this is weird huh?" and that was the basic extent of my dream... i just was baffled. i eventually woke up completely and felt wicked groggy and was very aware of the fact that sleep tonight will be hard and tomorrow will be a not good day.

i began watching harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban when i turned on the tv and am now watching harry potter and the goblet of fire. i also did a bunch of dishes and had left over shepard's pie for dinner and well lunch too, yum!

at one point there was a fierce terrential downpour of rain... i had to shut krysta's window and put a towel in our living room window because it was coming in all the way past where the heater is and onto the floor but i wasnt going to shut the window of the room i was in. luckily my room was fine in the rain coming in department because of the angle it was coming from.

watching those movies inspired me to start re-reading deathly hallows again... i began after i finished rereading book 6 but hadnt progressed past chapter 1... now i am hooked once again, it just takes the right mood!

Day 295/365 (June 9, 2009)

tuesday was an incredibly amazing, fun, and LONG day! i ended up sleeping for 30 minutes outside the booth theatre and then only 45 minutes at home. Mark and i rushed from 10:30 pm monday night until 10 am tuesday morning. it had tremendous rain, thunder that set off car alarms, frigid winds (that turned me into a superhero, and awesome new friends. i met this new person Joe and well he was so freaking awesome, and jake and tracey were also in the line, sasha swung by with pip at one point and i dont think i actually ever left the rush line except after they handed out the bracelets i took a tiny bathroom break! (jordan even stopped by for a bit) it really was lots of fun and we played a game of UNO and i kicked butt!

it was all for me to see Kyle Dean's first night in next to normal and it was worth it! after we left i went home and baked cookies for him and stuff, had my little nap, showered after the crazy long night, then met mark at build-a-bear to help him make a bear for kyle dean. i also scouted out the finishing stuff for the abe bear from last year's AA Day scavenger hunt. then we headed to the amrriot and put the bear's clothes on and stuff, got some food, then met with michelle at the theatre. it turns out Alice Ripley was sick so her understudy was going on and a bazillion people got refunds for their tickets including some of the people who had camped out overnight with us and i was like wow that is crazy! and sasha got one of our extra tickets but got hers refunded so joe ended up sitting next to me for the show and that was fun.

Kyle Dean did such an incredible job and i know it sounds weird but i was so terribly proud of him. i have seen him grow as a performer over the last three years and this really was amazing, he finally is able to show the rest of the theatre community how freaking amazing he is on a nightly basis. best part? i actually like this show so it wont be painful to sit through and watch it many times! (though i did love xanadu by the end) he played Gabe so well and well i just cant say enough ... yea and all the people who freaked and got their tickets refunded? you missed an incredible show i thought Jessica was leaps better than Alice Ripley (yea i said it) her voice was so pure and her acting choices made me appreciate the character more... jessica phillips is amazing!

special thanks to tracey for helping unwrap all my reese's for the cookies and jake who was in line with us

Day 181/365 (February 15, 2009)

What a day! My mom wanted to go to iHop for breakfast, so we went. Unfortunately we didn't think of time planning and got there about the same time as the bazillion churches let out and had to wait forever to get a seat! In the end it took us two hours to get breakfast. The pancakes were yummy and so was everything else. (it was all you can eat pancakes so we kind of killed ourselves.)  I called it "going into a pancake coma," then we came back to my apartment. We ended up doing nothing but lying down on our respective beds and napping for quite sometime. (this would be bad for me later.)

Then we got ready and went to help some people out with lotto for Lin's final performance in In The Heights. It was crazy mayhem, as i thought it would be. The best part about things like this is all the people you know and might not have seen in a while end up being there too. Its like a mini-reunion. The people i was directly trying to help did not win the lotto, but enough did that the person who had never seen the show got a ticket through the lotto win trickle down. I just wished we could have helped the other get a better seat. After we hung out for a teeny bit before my mom, Krysta, and myself headed over to B.B. King's for Broadway Bears. When we got there we ran into some people that i knw and we spent a great portion of the reception with them which was nice. The event was pretty nifty! We had VIP tickets so got to go in on the earlier side and had the chance (before it got insanely crowded) to roam around and look at the bears on display, chat with the bear designers, and enjoy the open bar. I learned i like a drink called Blue Hawaiian. They also had hors d'oeuvres that we sampled. I got to say hi to Sieber... how i heart him! We also had a chance to have a quick chat with Blake and Emma which pleased me since i never stage doored the final performance of Spring even though i had been there.

Afterwards we headed into the main room to take our seats and get some insane sweets to munch on for the auction. The auction began with Sieber and some woman singing a really funny song. We ended up getting a little tired of the auction and decided to leave, but waited until after the Billy Elliot bears were auctioned so we could report the amount to Carina right away. Highlights of the auction included: Sieber getting on the phone and getting the telephone bidder to go up to $16,000 for the Sir Robin bear, he had also said he would give the winner his house seats to Spamalot (i am thinking people werent realizing he was joking since Spamalot has closed). I really wanted the Clio/Kira Xanadu bear, she looked so cute, and even had working roller skates! The Billy Elliots were there and so cute. They tried to get the bidding to increase but no one went past $4,000. I felt bad. Apparently Groff wrote the Wendla letter on the Wendla bears butt when he signed it. The forbidden broadway bear came with two seperate outfits and it had its own "teddy" to wear so when it is doing its quick change from Ethel to Annie she is not naked. I am sure i am missing something else i enjoyed lots.

We then went over to TOL to go to Clark's birthday party. It was lots of fun and as always more fun when i randomly run into Shoshana! The events that took place then were quite amusing and entertaining, and i was shocked my mom seemed to be having a good time... of course she had like two drinks at Broadway Bears which is alot for her in general but especially because we hadnt really eaten anything all day except pancakes and a few random hors d'oeuvres. It was also a nice surprise to see Mark there too! If only i could write the highlights here, but alas this is a public blog and that squashes that.

Then we all went back home and i ended uo staying up until 3 am because of the nap i had... i just couldnt fall asleep. I however dont mind because it was such a great day!

Day 39/365 (September 26, 2008)

This was just after the last time i was able to see Xanadu. I really can't believe the roller coaster ride of Xanadu. I hated it at first, then i went to see it again because of KDM (and would have for MT if he went on). Who would have thought i would have fallen in love with it... really sorry it closed.

This is Jacob Ben Widmar, who was the final Thalia... he was so cute and funny! i think like ABz Matthew makes me go gaga no matter who he is... i think the same is true for Thalia in Du.
