Day 267/365 (April 10, 2015)

Morning began by rushing Hand To God... it was pretty chilly! The person behind me in line recognized me from when I got tickets to see The Last Ship with Ewa in December... always cray when that happens!

Then it was off to work briefly before I headed to "Conversations with Jonathan Groff" It was a 2 hour Q & A that was fascinating and I chatted with two lovely people before it started. There really is something about the tone of his voice that just makes you feel happy. Then I went to Trader Joes, and headed home.

I met up with some new friends for dinner and then we went to that evil cookie place before the show. Let me tell you this show is so funny. In concept I should not like it and be offended by it, but man was it good! Also the main actor is incredible. I do not know how he does what he does. Made some new friends during intermission (the ones from behind in the rush line) and then went to wait at the Stage Door. I ran into Kris Cusick which made me happy!

Then after SD times some of us went to a little place to hang out and chat more... then finally i went home to find that Karen and her mom got me a cookie from that evil cookie place... oops! Yum.

Day 14/365 (July 31, 2014)

I wanted to rush Pippin today but when I woke up at the original planned time I decided I was too tired and was going to skip it, however after another 45 minutes of sleep I figured I might as well head over, and so glad I did! When I got there I met these two lovely girls and a woman that were so fun to chat with. While waiting for the box office to open they brought and installed that new poster above.

Then I went to work. I had planned on going to the softball games in central park but sadly couldn't make it because a whole bunch of stuff popped up, so when I finally left at 4 I couldn't wait to get home and just veg out for a bit. I ended up napping on the couch which was much needed for my soul.

Later in the night I found out that Ariana DeBose was going on as Leading Player in Pippin. I had been so crushed to miss her debut as LP on Saturday so this was pretty much the best news ever! Seeing her as LP was amazing. It was the first time I saw the show and actually liked the LP part. She made the part her own and sounded fabulous... can we have her take over already? I was also glad to see Orion back. The other guy did a decent job but he was just so massive... a giant and his sheer size made him draw focus from everyone else. I also am not a big fan of Priscilla Lopez as Berthe. She was a scary grandma... I miss the lovable Annie Potts. It was nice checking in with the gals from the morning who seemed to enjoy the show very much and there was this adorable 6 year old I met after that made my heart burst she was so cute. She told me that every day she has to wear something pink or that says Princess, and she was wearing a pink zipped hoodie that had a crown built in... if she changed it to purple she would have been me!

Sasha has been making these wonderful flowers out of Playbills and made a Pippin/Wicked bouquet for me to give to Kyle Dean. I made a Pippin themed vase for the flowers to go in and gave them to him last night.

Then I came home and chatted with Lindz for a little while before going to bed since it was her last night staying with us... gonna miss her!

Day 365/365 (August 18, 2009)

WE HAS COMPLETION!!!!

It was a roller coaster of a day for me, kinda fitting since i saw next to normal i guess!

the day "began" with my attempting to get some sleep before rushing. i got about an hour before i woke up all alert and stuff. BAD NEWS instead of going right then i tried my best to pass time and finally got to rush at 4 which is when i was planning and had refused getting there any earlier. yea i was 5th in line! PISSED OFF!!!! i called sasha and finally she came down and joined and we were able to get the last set of front row orchestra seats thankfully. lack of sleep isnt good for tamra but the time passed we made friends i made a stop talking drunky mcwasted acquaintance (though his friend that had been with him earlier was most awesome). i took a little nap towards the end at one point and all was good.

got back to sasha's and watched a tiny bit of big brother after dark before getting ready and heading to my crumbs interview. the interview went well and then back to sasha's. it was nappy time. i basically only ended up getting about an hour of sleep before i was woken up by a phone call. (before i fell asleep though fred came over and nuzzled with me for a while and although it made me sneezy it made me really happy.) and pip even slept on me at one point during the day. Then i got in a long 45 minute phone call with apple because all of a sudden my phone was having some serious problems with syncing my music that i purchased and i have a temporary fix at the moment but it needs to become a temporary one so i will likely battle it out with them tomorrow.

anywho so this phone call caused me such incredible stress and part of it meant i had to call my mm which resulted in more stress and tears and well i just do not handle that well so i shoved my emotions down my throat and have been doing my best to ignore them. well sasha and i hung some more and she worked and then we gots ready to go. we went over to blockheads and met our theatre buddies there and had a yummy and delightful dinner. then to the theatre we went and the overpowering AC was most welcomed!

the show was unbelievably good and definitely worth the time spent rushing. i cant believe it had been over a month since i had seen it and am impressed with my self control (i guess the show is rubbing off on me as far as obsessiveness is concerned, j/k but lol).

after i began taking my final 365 pictures with my special 365 project. basically i took every picture that i posted in my blog and it is all on one sheet of paper with a 365 on it. and the first one was taken with sasha who is the highest tagged human! then i took one with kyle dean who seemed to enjoy my collage work since he was the first 365 picture and i hadnt intended it to happen full circle but i loved that it had. and while i was chatting with KDM chylar (pronounced skylar, tho i feel i missed a letter in there from when he told us how it was spelled.) also i dont usually "geek" out about interesting next to normal things however there were three moments this evening that had me in serious LIH (laughing in head). during why stay at one point when alice sang why stay she drew a question mark in the air and well i just found it hilarious because it was so not a her seeming thing to do and i do that all the time. also when she was taking the pills out of the medicine cabinet you could hear that some of them fell whilst she was doing so. ( i am sure others could see but not from our beautiful front row). the third was during better than before bobby accidentally messed up a lyric and instead of saying you've got it DI hooray, he said youve got it yay hooray, so then a second later when jenn sng that they both looked at each other and turned giggling as they did what they had to and when they turned back around they were still smiling and although it isnt supposed to be all giggly like that it was kind of a nice shared father daughter moment so i enjoyed that. and in general any time i see tears from people onstage i am just floored and there were some tears by kyle dean, bobby, and alice... good times! (I know i am crazy)

then sasha and i headed back and saw some lightening, by the time we got inside it was hardcore lightening and fierce rain so sasha, marty, and myself ran up to the roof to look at the sky and it was so rainy and hard and there was one especially breathtaking bolt that illuminated the whole sky and was positioned just right that we got a clear view of its bolitness!!!! then we came downstairs and watched the most oh snapish episode of big brother and i got a text from krysta saying the super had seen emma hanging around so he will keep an extra special look out for her and let us know as soon as he sees her. i hope she was okay during the storm because i miss her so very much. i also took a picture with marty and then this one with pip and fred because they are all important people in my life/blog and i was fortunate to see them today. i personally love how pip looks like he was flying and fred was nice enough to stop licking himself for a second to look at the camera for the picture!

as far as things go i doubt i will do a photo every day but i will try to post an entry everyday we will see how that goes and i will probably create a new blog for that since this one has run its course and i am proud of myself for keeping it up!

Day 357/365 (August 10, 2009)

i got up crazy early to do the rush for the bye bye birdie first preview performance tickets, they were for $10 each! i got a great lunchbox since i was one of the first 50 people in line and it had a tee shirt and pin in it. sadly i was not the one who won the opening night tickets/party passes. i slept a little and did a lot of talking with jennifer and her mom who was in line too behind me. i witnessed some of the bye bye birdie load in and witnessed one of the funniest things i have seen all year as the BBB ensemble did the fan club thing and spazzed over "conrad" and then "chased" him down the street. they did a real good job of pretending to be all fan crazy.

then i went to sasha's and changed and stuff and made my way to meet karolina. we begun our day of looking at bridal dresses and her mom even joined us. we made some amazing progress and it excited me and her een if i ended up feeling like it was a bridal sweat shop because i hadnt eaten since the day before and i had said i needed food. well we didnt get it after the first store and just kept going. eventually we made our way to ollie's and met up with david and his best man (i forget his name). food was appreciated and prevented me from dying. i also had the opportunity to meet the best man and he was a really great person and i can see why david chose him and we had some pretty adult conversations actually talking about the wedding... its weird to be adult like sometimes!

after we did some more shopping then i made my way back to sasha and martys and hung out with them for a long while before finally going home.

Day 331/365 (July 15, 2009)

oh my it was a busy day! i woke up early and rushed the little mermaid for michelle, i chatted with a very nice girl, unfortunately i didn't realize she was just in high school until it was just about BO open time when i had mentioned something and she was like oh no, i am only in high school, so she waited for nothing! i was surprised at how many people ended in line. i was first but the line went quite far down the theater shortly after i got there! i doubt most were rushing and the others were looking to buy regular tickets based on the demographic not looking very collegiate!

then i rushed home and cleaned myself up a bit and headed out to finally watch a Seth" Sirius XM Broadcast because Emma Hunton was going to perform and promote her Joe's Pub Gig... it was standing room only by the time i got there (boo) but i stuck it out and she played Whispering while playing on the guitar and it was beautifully done! i felt bad not staying through the rest of the show but i had stuff to do, so when she was all done i just left. PS Seth was away on the Rosie Cruise and the person who filled in for him was not very good. she had a lovely voice when she sang, but she just wasnt engaging and that made me sad.

I headed to the cake distributor store emily told me about a while ago that i have used rather frequently for awesomeness. I bought the chocolate i need to make Satan's Balls for Michelle, then i headed back towards home. i went to Path Mark to get a few other needed supplies, most importantly the Red Velvet Cake mix... unfortunately i couldn't find it... which sucks becuase between Path Mark, the grocery store across our street, and the little stores around the neighborhood i have been unable to find it! so i will try a few places in midtown in the hopes of finding later, and then go to 14th street if i have to since i know i saw it in one of the stores around there when i was puppy sitting for kim! While i waited in the longest line ever! (my wort line experience there by far... i mean i listened to the entire tarzan cast album while in the store and i didnt listen to it for that long before i got in line! anywho in front of me was this 6 month old little boy and he took a liking to me, so i would make funny faces, or play peek a boo with him while passing the time. it was super cute and if i would stop for too long he would start to get cranky. then when we finally got to the cash register his mom had pushed him through to load the stuff on the belt blocking me from view and he started to cry, she moved out of the way and as soon as he saw me he started to giggle... i felt so loved because well little kids love me without much effort on my part!

anywho then i came home and it was a good thing i set an alarm to remind me when to leave so i wouldnt be late meeting michelle because i ended up falling asleep for like two hours and when i woke up i was s disoriented... like i didnt know what day it was and couldnt remember what i was supposed to be leaving for... then karolina called me and well she had to put up with my what in the worldness and  and asked if i would join her that night... turns out karen couldn't make it to harry potter and the half-blood prince so i went in her place. i finally snapped to at 72nd street... whilst i was sleeping i had a nightmare that the chocolate i had bought and placed in the fridge was not supposed to go in there and it almost got ruined so i freaked a little and had krysta check the package since i had forgotten to before i had left in my disoriented state.

had a lovely time with michelle chatting about the past two weeks and eating at chipotle, then i headed over to the movie theater which was freaking on 32nd and 2nd ave... so far away!

i didnt really like the movie but it was nice seeing it with karolina and david. i felt the movie was way too rushed, and they didnt explain certain things so if you hadnt read the book you would be clueless. they also changed things that were unnecessary and added random things. i thought it was well acted for the most part, i didnt like slughorn, or the littlest voldemort. the teenage voldemort i thought was pretty good, i would have enjoyed you know who more, but he is definitely way too old for it. i think the thing that disappointed me most was that they didnt do the whole dumbledore tells harry that he knew he would be fine because he was with him thing. it was such a sweet powerful moment in the book and wasted by not being in the film. eh oh well at least i can picture things in my mind. I mean most of the people that used to be important in it were just glorified extras... longbottom anyone? and a few others and the billing at the end... i understand that the people are more seasoned performers and had larger parts in the other movies but tom felton certainly deserved to be higher up and listed individually!

then i headed home and found a puddle off pee on my floor from tucker and poo on my bed from emma... i was not pleased in the slightest!

Day 330/365 (July 14, 2009)

ooo it was a day! after getting like no actual sleep at sasha and marty's before heading out to rush... idk why the couch is comfy and i was sleepy, i went to rush next to normal. i was of course the first person there and thankfully i feel asleep from about 8 until 9 am so it gave me a little boost!. i even finished reading the 6th harry potter book, tears! After i got the tickets i came home and took care of a few quick things (such as playing with tucker and giving emma some love) then i got ready and headed out for two separate job interviews... 

the first place i am not a fan of... it was clustered and chaotic and well i am desperate so if it happens i will take it, the second... OH MY GOODNESS! it was with a temp agency and they had me fill out paperwork that took about 40 minutes before i even got to do the interview! and my hand writing sucks so that was painful! the interview seemed pleasant and hopefully they have some job pop up for me. afterwards i headed over to sasha and she was trying to seel since she hadnt the night before so i watched more of how i met your mother until i fell asleep and got a much needed hour nap. at one point since pip was in sasha's room fred came up and nuzzled with me again... setting off my allergies, but i dont really care because i love him so much!

then i went and met with my theatre buddy at Mother Burger in the courtyard. it was my first time checking it out and it was yummy, especially the sauce when i dipped the great fries in it. then we headed over the the theatre... we had to wait in a long line to get in but always worth it. the show was great and it was fun seeing it with someone i haven't seen it with yet. then we hung around after and chatted with Kyle Dean for a bit... always happiness... then i went home.

i paid some bills and dealt with a very annoying emma who wanted my undivided attention since i left her alone all last night.

Day 311/365 (June 25, 2009)

well i ended up doing another overnight rush for next to normal... this time i slept a tiny bit more than last, mark ended up showing up and mary was able to get a ticket. after i got my tickets i went home and slept for a while. eventually i went and met krysta to drop off tucker and that was the last time for a while because he ripped my pants and almost pantsed me!

then i met up with mary and devon and sasha and marty. after some time there mary devon and i went and filmed some stuff for mary's demo reel for twicon with allison case.

then i went to next to normal and met up with jo ann there too! and finally shoshana. we had an excellent time at the show and meghann (natalie u/s) was FANTABULOUS! all of us hung out after the show for a bit at SD chatting with each other and what not and had a lovely chat with Kyle Dean. then mark and i headed back to my place and i baked cupcakes.

as we were leaving next to normal i stepped in some gravel and it got stuck to the bottom of my flip flops until i pried it off!

Day 310/365 (June 24, 2009)

it was a very long, but very much fun day! i woke up early to get ready to meet my cousins and walk Tucker. I left earlier than planned because paula had texted to say they were looking to get there earlier. i ended up getting there way earlier than i meant to and sat on a bench to read my book.  ya know i lived over there for a year and never did that!

anywho i et up with my cousins Paula, and her clan... and also my cousin Mo and her kids. 3 adults, 5 children... phew!

we hopped the boat to liberty island and then we waited in line forever to get in... by the time we got to the observation decks of the pedastool it was raining! not hard but enough that my pants got soaked and i was slipping in my flip flops! that gave me quite the bit of stress. but we had lots of fun and then i left to go home.

i got home and went straight to the tub to clean my now extremely dirty feet from all the yuck of the streets on NY and then i washed my jean bottoms in the sink since they soaked up all that yucky water! then i took a much needed respite to re-gather myself and get pack my overnight bag to head to sasha's so i could get some more sleep before heading to rush for next to normal.

i got there about 11 and met with marty and fred. i laid down to try and get some sleep and then i got a text saying there were already people in the next to normal rush line... i thought about it and then away i went... not so much sleep, but at least i was close by and got a quick hello in.

Day 309/365 (June 23, 2009)

oh the day... so anywho i only got three hours of sleep (ok not quite that much but rounding up) before i had to get up and go do the rush for next to normal. i headed out and met mark there and we waited until 10 to buy our tickets. it was not as much fun as last time since we didnt have a ton of other people we were being all chummy with, but it was nice having the company.

krysta brought tucker to the rush line before heading to work and he attacked her poor skirt/shirt pretty badly, but she was able to sew it up on the spot... and then he did it again! everyone seemed to love him (of course) then we went home... i took a nap! i woke up with really cold feet since i was hot when lying down and didnt get under the covers and by having a dream that flies were biting me and i was bleeding because of it. obviously flies werent actually biting me, but man oh man i was itchy for a little while after because of the dream!

i ended up with another nap at some point and some quality time with emma and tucker, then i brought tucker to meet krysta at josh's. i was quite pleased at myself for even remembering his apartment number on my own! then i stopped for a 99 cent slice of pizza before going to the theater. i met up again with mark, his friend jess (i think is her name), and diane.

the show was really quite good and i had lots of fun even if i am emotionally dead inside. we had a nice little chat with kyle dean after then we all went our separate ways. i got home and chatted with krysta for a bit and down loaded drew seeley's new version of her voice from the little mermaid.... it sounds quite awesome and pretty and i dig it as a stand alone song, but i cant wait to hear him sing the actual version of it in the show when i go to see it. that song is just so beautifully written!

i also have been really into reading my book Angel's Tip... so good!

Day 295/365 (June 9, 2009)

tuesday was an incredibly amazing, fun, and LONG day! i ended up sleeping for 30 minutes outside the booth theatre and then only 45 minutes at home. Mark and i rushed from 10:30 pm monday night until 10 am tuesday morning. it had tremendous rain, thunder that set off car alarms, frigid winds (that turned me into a superhero, and awesome new friends. i met this new person Joe and well he was so freaking awesome, and jake and tracey were also in the line, sasha swung by with pip at one point and i dont think i actually ever left the rush line except after they handed out the bracelets i took a tiny bathroom break! (jordan even stopped by for a bit) it really was lots of fun and we played a game of UNO and i kicked butt!

it was all for me to see Kyle Dean's first night in next to normal and it was worth it! after we left i went home and baked cookies for him and stuff, had my little nap, showered after the crazy long night, then met mark at build-a-bear to help him make a bear for kyle dean. i also scouted out the finishing stuff for the abe bear from last year's AA Day scavenger hunt. then we headed to the amrriot and put the bear's clothes on and stuff, got some food, then met with michelle at the theatre. it turns out Alice Ripley was sick so her understudy was going on and a bazillion people got refunds for their tickets including some of the people who had camped out overnight with us and i was like wow that is crazy! and sasha got one of our extra tickets but got hers refunded so joe ended up sitting next to me for the show and that was fun.

Kyle Dean did such an incredible job and i know it sounds weird but i was so terribly proud of him. i have seen him grow as a performer over the last three years and this really was amazing, he finally is able to show the rest of the theatre community how freaking amazing he is on a nightly basis. best part? i actually like this show so it wont be painful to sit through and watch it many times! (though i did love xanadu by the end) he played Gabe so well and well i just cant say enough ... yea and all the people who freaked and got their tickets refunded? you missed an incredible show i thought Jessica was leaps better than Alice Ripley (yea i said it) her voice was so pure and her acting choices made me appreciate the character more... jessica phillips is amazing!

Day 294/365 (June 8, 2009)

i watched tucker, i went to open mic night at TOL, i got there early to help raise money for a walk, i drank something called Purple People Eater... it was yum! i also got my stuff together to get ready to rush next to normal. i got there at 10:30 and two minutes later two other girls showed up... turns out one of them is the cousin of one of my LJ/ALtarholic friends... such a small world huh?

Day 291/365 (June 5, 2009)

anywho i didnt get much sleep since i had gotten in so late from karaoke and had to get up early to meet krysta at next to normal rush. she had been so insistent that i see aaron tveit in it before he left , she worked it out that she rushed the first part, then i would finish it out. it was drizzly and my pants and shoes got wet and the wind ended up making me really cold! i also had tucker with me which was totally fine and fun until he had to go potty and i had to move him to the wet street to go and he wouldnt and ended up with a very wet dog with a full bladder (paranoia now). anywho there was a person behind me in line that when i saw him he wicked familiar but i couldnt quite place him. well after i got my ticket and was just at the subway i realized why he looked so familiar... he was zeke (the baker guy) in high school musical that i saw out in texas!

anywho i got home and did a bunch of stuff... i took a much needed nap at one point... i would also like to point out that at some point during my sleep that night i did something and my toes were in pain! so eventually i headed out to meet up with krysta and steph. i chose to wear my boots since my sneakers were still wet and it was still raining. anywho i met them at a yummy place called rice and beans. after dinner krysta left us and steph and i walked for a bit until we ended up killing time inside the marriot marquis.

we got to the theatre and what did we find on the cast board there was an understudy on for aaron! how am i supposed to let go of my i really dont think aaron is a good performer if i cant see him in the role he is supposedly amazing in? well i didnt care so much since i dont really care and i was glad i was going to see what the story was about. steph and i took our seats and i saw jo ann so went over to chat for a bit. during intermission i ran into hsm guy and asked him if i was right... of course i was and that was pretty random and weird! at SD i also ran into someone who knew who SJ was! that night they also FINALLY announced that kyle dean was taking over for aaron in the show and well i started getting lots of people sending me links about it, which i appreciated so much :D

anywho the show: i thought it was great and i liked it as a better choice for best musical, but i didnt think it was as amazing as everyone had been saying and although the cast really was great i didnt think they were as great as everyone had been making them out to be (highly critical o know) and everyone kept telling me i would be nervous sitting in the front row because someone was so fierce and the story was so emotional i would be in tears like crazy... yea not scared at all and well it just didnt touch me emotionally. i decided i was like the tin man because we both apparently have no heart! well anywho the understidy that played gabe i thought was extremely good and i dont think there is any way aaron could have done a better job than him... he worked that character! i think overall in the show my favorite character (not actor) is the doctor... the "second" rock star one more so

anywho i headed home!
