Day 94/365 (October 19, 2014)

I wasn;t sure if I should see Pippin or not while KDM was on vacation since I should be careful with my finances but I really like the show and had heard good things about his understudy Mike Schwitter so I figured why not. It was so cold out, but I made it through the wait and got my favorite seat then I went home and ended up napping a tiny bit.

Mike was really very good as Pippin. Which considering who he was filling in for is not a compliment I would give sightly. If he was the one replacing KDM I wouldn't be sad. He only had a few minor moments where he was singing too quietly, but he made some really great acting choices. Orion was supposed to be gone but they needed him one more week so today turned out to really really really be his last show (kind of like Ravi as Abe). To everyone's surprise for the final part of the show when he came running out with the flame jugglers he had put his hair in a very impressive chunky spiky Mohawk and everyone onstage had to work extra hard not to laugh. He also did some extra fun stuff on the ball during curtain call song.

After the show I met up with Ben and his friend Ashley since they had seen it as well and we ended up going to Juniors. Katherine came to meet up with us. It was lovely chatting and then we got pumpkin cheesecake to share... oops!

Finally went home and was so sleepy so I didn't do much but I did try to set up the new modem TWC delivered and failed miserably, I had just given up hope when Sasha came home and a friend of hers saw and offered to help. Finally an hour later with his help and a call to TWC we were successful!

Day 82/365 (October 7, 2014)

What a day! First I woke up to Charlie sleeping like that by my leg, and Fred sleeping like that on the pillow next to me. I got ready and headed out to Pippin rush. Rush was uneventful which is always good, then I went to work. Afterwards I went to the gym for a bit and met up with Jess' friend Avi.

We are planning her NYC bachelorette party next year so we wanted to get together and start brainstorming and pick a date. Obviously I can't discuss what we are thinking but if we can make any of our ideas come to fruition it is going to be SO FUN!!!! He is a pretty cool guy (duh he is a friend of Jess) so we chatted for quite sometime after we were done then I headed up to Trader Joe's so I would starve until Friday. Then I came home and had dinner and took a shower before heading out to see Pippin. There was a bunch of understudy action happening which is always fun. Colin was on for the King, and Sam was on for Colin and Lara (i think is her name) was on for Berthe the first time ever. I enjoy Colin as King Charles so it was nice to see again. Lara did an excellent job as Berthe but it is funny because she is no way near a grandma age. She altered her voice, altered her posture, and did her makeup in a way to appear older but as soon as she took off the robe there was no hiding the fact she is quite young! I found that pretty funny. So much better than Priscilla! Orion was still in the show which made me happy (and finally got a picture with him even if it is blurry). There was a moment early in the show where Pippin has the sword and hits the floor with it as he is trying to convince Charlemagne to let him go to war and the sword BROKE! the piece went clanking onto the ground and KDM had this look on his face and was just like oops. it was pretty freaking funny, then he kicked the piece of stage and the show went on but it made me chuckle quite a bit!

When the show was over it was starting to drizzle and I had not brought my umbrella so I was not looking forward to walking home but ended up walking with someone who was a lovely gentleman and he held his umbrella for the both of us so I stayed dry woo~hoo!

Karen also made Charlie a scarecrow halloween costume and they did a photo shoot with the boys as the cowardly lion and scarecrow

Day 49/365 (September 4, 2014)

I woke up early so I decided to rush pippin... when the BO opened at 10 there was only 9 people in line. I could have showed up at 9:55 and been the 8th person in line! Alas I was there much earlier but I had nothing else to do and it was nice out. The BO guy that was working is the usual one and he was nice enough to give me the specific seat I asked for. I have sat in the same two rush seats multiple times so I wanted to get a different vantage point, thanks guy! I feel like I should bring him something yummy at some point. I do feel bad that I will be seeing the show when there is a live double eviction episode of Big Brother, but I want to see Andrea Martin and what if I really like her? I might not get the chance to see it before she leaves so tonight was it.

I forced myself to the gym after work and I am so glad I did... it made me happier than I was. I went home after and made some dinner, relaxed, and showered before heading out to the show. I really do love me some Pippin. Andrea Martin is s amazing as people said. Not only is she a vocal powerhouse but when she did the trapeze tricks she made it look effortless. Oh i'm just going to flip, I'm just going to hang upside down and sing... no big deal. The others I have seen do it, you could see the struggle on their face as they tried to do everything. I hope to squeeze in seeing it with her once more if I can. However I hope Charlie is back soon because they guy that fills in for him is not good at leading the orchestra. Every time I have seen him conduct there has been some struggles, and this was no different. I also think there may have been a fill in trumpet or trombone player because there were some brassy sounding wrong notes frequently. During I Guess I'll Miss the Man however the MD had his pacing all over the place but Rachel Bay Jones is amazing and made it work. If you didn't know the song you probably wouldn't have known how off it was, but she held her own and made it work... bravo! It turns out the recent winner of SYTYCD was seeing the show too... excellent choice buddy! (I think his name is Ricky). I also want to know why tonight (and Saturday) they took out the last trick in Simple Joys... i meant to ask KDM but forgot, i want it back! Orion also did the trapeze tonight with Andrea... is there nothing he can't do? i just don't get how he is able to move so easily like that.

After the show i waited at the SD and took a pic with John Dossett... i really do kike him in the Charlemagne role! I told him so and he was like but I just started, and I was like I know, I've already seen you twice! It turns out Hanke was seeing the show too so I ran into him as he was leaving from backstage so that was nice to chat with him for a bit. He told me at one point that I should just go for my dreams (how sweet) and apologized for having to run after I had seen him in B & C months ago... I was like it is okay, you have a personal life!

I finally got home and was so wired and energized that sleep didn't happen until 2 am... oops! I did use the time wisely and watched Big Brother (yelp, go Frankie Go!) and packed my bag for New Rochelle.
