Day 296/365 (May 9, 2015)
A busy and wonderful day! I started the morning off with a 90 minute walk, then came home and relaxed for a bit before Lola arrived. She took the suggestion to make her own Derblin inspired Critter and story very seriously. I was extremely impressed with her creativity and dedication. She worked on her story for about 4.5 hours. She kept asking us how to spell words, but not all of them. At one point both Sasha and I fell asleep briefly on the couch. She wanted to send it to "the company" meaning the couple that wrote the Derblin is a Derblin book she loves.
A bit later Karen came home and they worked on a necklace for Ellyn then we all headed off to NJ. While in the car we started playing "evil fairy." I have enjoyed all the games I have played with Lola, but I must say this was not one i liked and i felt slightly tortured. We got to her house and between bath time and dinner time and birthday planning we were able to avoid playing more of the evil fairy for a while. Then we played it again for a tiny bit before her dad got home. Then we went to trader joes and got some much needed groceries.Once home i was finally able to eat!
Eventually i headed out for another walk to finish my step goal and ended at 54 Below for Eric Michael Krop's show. I got there earlier than planned but step goal was achieved and I didn't want to add too much more steps to the count for the day! The girl who ended up in line behind me was working my last nerve. Every other word out of her mouth was like. I like totally like did like this thing like i.... And she kept creeping closer and closer to me an hitting me with her bag and phone and being oblivious to it. Luckily the doorman took notice and said i could go downstairs to wait at the seats until they were ready to open the house.
I got myself a lovely seat and Eric's show was really great. The boy can sing! So talented! so happy i stayed up so late for it! After it was over and I was up by the bar area i almost didn't recognize Brian (Nash) when he tried to say hi to me. The lighting was such a way i didn't really see his face until he was very close... oops! It was nice to chat with him for a bit, and then Eric... then I had to go home I was so sleepy! These 11:30 shows are killer on the sleep cycle!

Day 36/365 (August 22, 2014)
I got up surprisingly early considering how late I came in last night! Then it was off to work, then home to watch Lola... Only it turned out I wasn't watching Lola so it just ended up being some down time before heading to the gym before meeting Travis for my training session. I also got to open up my favorite toothpaste... it is Crest and full of cinnamon wonderfulness! I have looked high and low for it and thought they stopped making it until I found it in Maine! I also went to Grand Central because they were doing a "picnic in Vanderbilt hall" They had fake grass and picnic tables set up, then had the casts of Pippin, Motown, Cinderella, and Chicago come perform. I found out about it last minute because Ari tweeted she was doing it. It was enjoyable and this cut dad/little girl were right by me and their conversation was melting my heart. I really do need to see Cinderella though because I love the music so much!
Training was rough as always, but I always push through. Travis tells me that I am tough which always makes me chuckle because aside from this I am so not... I can't handle pain so I end up a whiny baby when sick or hurt, but I don't let that affect me during training and do whatever he tells me to do. I then hobbled home and thought I was in for the night until I saw that Mom Salem was in NYC. She is someone truly special to me. She had a major impact on my life and I haven't seen her in like 9 years or so. She was only in town for a few more hours so at 10 pm I hopped in the shower, then headed down to her hotel to meet her. We went to a rooftop bar and chatted and caught up on each other's lives before heading down to Mostly Sondheim. We ended up staying there until 3 am! It was Colleen and Eric Krop and Brian J. Nash and she had a blast! As we were leaving Eric shouted "I love you" haha. Then I dropped her off at her hotel and headed home. On the way I ran into Imani, so we chatted for quite a bit before finally both heading home... by the time I got home it was 4 am, and I still had to get ready for bed!

Day 354/365 (August 7, 2009)
going to try to talk only about the fun stuff for the last few days (we will see if that happens). so i knew i was meeting Mary at Joe's Pub to see Sam Bradley in concert. I had no idea who he was or what kind of music he played but no one else would go with her so i said i would accompany her. i was looking forward to seeing Mary since it had been a while and not so much the actual show. All i knew was he was a solo artist and that it was just him and a guitar. which meant i figured it might not be the most fun since usually even the most talented of musicians if they are solo when they perform by his/her self are dull and boring because they are awkward up on stage and not engaging. I am so glad i could not have been more wrong! not only was he super talented but he was incredibly funny and engaging. he kept saying we were too polite and he worked the room and told funny stories/anecdotes and even had a funny choice of words when encouraging everyone to stay after to meet him. i will meet you in a room in the back (haha) but yea it was just good music and a good time with a good friend. i even took some videos for mary. we were a little thrown though since they are doing construction on the entrance to joe's pub so we had to go in through the public theater entrance. and i ended up there early so i did my favorite pre-joes pub wait time ritual which was go to walgreens and sit in the massaging chair for a while. it always makes my back so happy and it did wonders this time!
we stayed after and chatted with him for a bit and got a picture and he practically doubled over in laughter when i told him i was the one who kept snorting and he even remembered Mary from Texas! And his EP was the niftiest idea! instead of having a CD it was sold as a keychain that had a link and code etched on the back to download it!
Then mary and i said our goodbyes and i walked over to The duplex for mostly sondheim. (it was a pretty quick and straight forward walk. i was very excited when i got there since Colleen was there so she was my buddy for the night. It was so nice/exciting having Brian and Kate back too! (we think it was the first MS of the summer with all three of them present.) There were a lot of people and lots of singing and there was a word/theme of the night i am going to wipe from memory. i finally sang screw loose and after lots of practicing i actually remembered the words on my own and followed the music! HOWEVER i know for a fact i sounded beyond horrible and i guess i am ok with that, because it was fun to sing a different song :D
anywho i came home and after dealing with the insane mess that pip had made on his wee pad/my floor and a few other things i finally fell asleep about 5:30!!!!

Day 249/365 (April 24, 2009)
The day started off pretty hum drum, but then things picked up! Emily texted me to say she had time to kill and she was in the courtyard and i should come meet her. I was already meeting Krysta in that general area a little while later so i figured i should head down early.
I took one of the fastest showers i have ever taken and packed tucker's doggie bag before heading out. I got to the courtyard and then emily and i began our hour plus long walk around hell's kitchen since i knew we couldnt stay in the courtyard because they don't allow dogs. Emily learned the power of tucker and how people just stop to say how cute he is, and pet him, and take pictures of him. She also held him almost the whole time which is no easy task since he is 5.5 pounds. Then finally we snuck to the courtyard to sit for a tiny bit and cradled him so security wouldnt notice... and thankfully they didnt!
Then i walked up to the columbus circle area to meet krysta at the vet office for tucker to get some shots. Since i was no longer meeting with Kim and Susie i just stayed there and ended up chatting with the front office guy and he was super nice. Finally when we left it was decided i would take tucker home because krysta wanted to go see a movie (and strangely this was the first time i ever brought him back home.) I think my favorite tucker story is right before we parted ways i was like tucker hasnt gone to the bathroom since before we left the apt, and just then he started doing his i have to pee whimper. We set him down, and this man saw him and literally stopped then walked over and bent down to pet him. he was stopped when he saw the stream coming, but then krysta wiped him down... but it was just finny to see him brought over like a magnet.
It was such a beautiful day and i really didnt mind holding tucker and i just didnt feel like going in the subway yet, so i decided i was just going to walk to 72nd street so i didnt have to transfer from the 1 to the 2 or 3. As i was walking i realized how close i was to my aunt's apartment and knew she would ant to meet puppy so i gave her a call and met up with her. We ended up getting some very yummy pinkberry that i havent had in way too long and she was all sorts of in love with tucker!
Finally i headed home because i needed to set him down and he needed to run around a bit, which he did with mr. fred. Krysta came home and we talked about the happenings since we parted ways and then i headed out to Mostly Sondheim.
This week Titus Burgess was helping Kate and Brian host MS and it was just an interesting night to say the least. I sat at a table and then these two random strangers sat down with me, which was very welcomed so i wasnt at a table by myself. we got to chatting and they were from Tokyo and here to see as many of the new shows this season they could. They ended up asking if i could take a picture with them which means my head was inflated because of my star power (haha) the night was fun and i even got up the guts to sing (Good Morning Baltimore) and i love how friendly the crowd always is there and helpful in my hard time following the music, and i they gave me some awesome back up vocals... defiantely the favorite time i have ever had the guts to sing because it was just so much fun! i lvoe the MS... i just think i maybe shouldnt go as much because of how late i stay up then i pay for it on saturday... but i wont stop because i have too much fun and hopefully sasha will come next week!
