Day 354/365 (August 7, 2009)

going to try to talk only about the fun stuff for the last few days (we will see if that happens).

so i knew i was meeting Mary at Joe's Pub to see Sam Bradley in concert. I had no idea who he was or what kind of music he played but no one else would go with her so i said i would accompany her. i was looking forward to seeing Mary since it had been a while and not so much the actual show. All i knew was he was a solo artist and that it was just him and a guitar. which meant i figured it might not be the most fun since usually even the most talented of musicians if they are solo when they perform by his/her self are dull and boring because they are awkward up on stage and not engaging. I am so glad i could not have been more wrong! not only was he super talented but he was incredibly funny and engaging. he kept saying we were too polite and he worked the room and told funny stories/anecdotes and even had a funny choice of words when encouraging everyone to stay after to meet him. i will meet you in a room in the back (haha) but yea it was just good music and a good time with a good friend. i even took some videos for mary. we were a little thrown though since they are doing construction on the entrance to joe's pub so we had to go in through the public theater entrance. and i ended up there early so i did my favorite pre-joes pub wait time ritual which was go to walgreens and sit in the massaging chair for a while. it always makes my back so happy and it did wonders this time!

we stayed after and chatted with him for a bit and got a picture and he practically doubled over in laughter when i told him i was the one who kept snorting and he even remembered Mary from Texas! And his EP was the niftiest idea! instead of having a CD it was sold as a keychain that had a link and code etched on the back to download it!

Then mary and i said our goodbyes and i walked over to The duplex for mostly sondheim. (it was a pretty quick and straight forward walk. i was very excited when i got there since Colleen was there so she was my buddy for the night. It was so nice/exciting having Brian and Kate back too! (we think it was the first MS of the summer with all three of them present.) There were a lot of people and lots of singing and there was a word/theme of the night i am going to wipe from memory. i finally sang screw loose and after lots of practicing i actually remembered the words on my own and followed the music! HOWEVER i know for a fact i sounded beyond horrible and i guess i am ok with that, because it was fun to sing a different song :D

anywho i came home and after dealing with the insane mess that pip had made on his wee pad/my floor and a few other things i finally fell asleep about 5:30!!!!

Day 287/365 (June 1, 2009)

i went out on an errand with tucker for krysta. it was so frustrating because tucker just flat out was not cooperating in the walking department and i had to carry him most of the way. anywho i finally found the drop box i needed because krysta had given me the address it was by. so when i couldnt find it i went in the building who had the address she gave and CARRIED tucker. well anywho i asked the security guy if he knew where the ups drop box was and he told me it was right over there by the other security guard. (about twenty five feet away). anywho i told him thankyou and he said but you cant go there because no dogs are allowed in the building, then asked if i had someone else who could go drop it off for me, and i was like no it is just me and him and i am carrying him, cant i just drop it off? he once again said there are no dogs allowed in this building and i was like well i am going over there now pretend you dnt see him and he was protesting to the other guard like i told her no dogs and he looked like she just is trying to drop off a package, no big deal! really that guy was one stupid person.

on the way home i finally stopped and bought fruit from the street guy and got so much yum! i mean look at those cherries and peaches! i even bought a super yummy tomato and a fresh avocado to eat. i came home and ate the tomato and avocado, two peaches, and like half a pound of cherries!

anywho mark had called and said he was coming into the city to try avenue q lotto, and i said i would come meet him and help. krysta asked if i could bring tucker then and she would help, so i did. i ended up being the first name called and well afraid my lotto luck is maxed out right now. then mark and i headed to next to normal to try and buy tickets for him, michelle, and i think nicole... but there lady there wasnt so cool so we failed. then we got some yummy chinese food. since i had sweet and sour chicken not too long ago i got chicken and broccoli... i really LOVE broccoli!

then we hung in the courtyard until he went to the show. i headed home and watched part of i'm a celebrity get me out of here... i can sense this will be a new guilty pleasure! then i went back out and met him at TOL for some open mic night. we stayed for a while and had fun and i was skeeved out at one point and also made really happy by something mark had done for me... yay!

i missed kate pazakis' cd release party which made me really sad, but i just couldnt spend the money on it... i am getting more careful with the use of my money... and yea i know it totally ricked and had a great turnout and thankfully sasha didnt end up being there by herself.

also on my way to meet mark after Q let out i had a showdown with a rat... i was brave and stood my ground... the subway people cheered me on!

Day 249/365 (April 24, 2009)

The day started off pretty hum drum, but then things picked up! Emily texted me to say she had time to kill and she was in the courtyard and i should come meet her. I was already meeting Krysta in that general area a little while later so i figured i should head down early.

I took one of the fastest showers i have ever taken and packed tucker's doggie bag before heading out. I got to the courtyard and then emily and i began our hour plus long walk around hell's kitchen since i knew we couldnt stay in the courtyard because they don't allow dogs. Emily learned the power of tucker and how people just stop to say how cute he is, and pet him, and take pictures of him. She also held him almost the whole time which is no easy task since he is 5.5 pounds. Then finally we snuck to the courtyard to sit for a tiny bit and cradled him so security wouldnt notice... and thankfully they didnt!

Then i walked up to the columbus circle area to meet krysta at the vet office for tucker to get some shots. Since i was no longer meeting with Kim and Susie i just stayed there and ended up chatting with the front office guy and he was super nice. Finally when we left it was decided i would take tucker home because krysta wanted to go see a movie (and strangely this was the first time i ever brought him back home.)  I think my favorite tucker story is right before we parted ways i was like tucker hasnt gone to the bathroom since before we left the apt, and just then he started doing his i have to pee whimper. We set him down, and this man saw him and literally stopped then walked over and bent down to pet him. he was stopped when he saw the stream coming, but then krysta wiped him down... but it was just finny to see him brought over like a magnet.

It was such a beautiful day and i really didnt mind holding tucker and i just didnt feel like going in the subway yet, so i decided i was just going to walk to 72nd street so i didnt have to transfer from the 1 to the 2 or 3. As i was walking i realized how close i was to my aunt's apartment and knew she would ant to meet puppy so i gave her a call and met up with her. We ended up getting some very yummy pinkberry that i havent had in way too long and she was all sorts of in love with tucker!

Finally i headed home because i needed to set him down and he needed to run around a bit, which he did with mr. fred. Krysta came home and we talked about the happenings since we parted ways and then i headed out to Mostly Sondheim.

This week Titus Burgess was helping Kate and Brian host MS and it was just an interesting night to say the least. I sat at a table and then these two random strangers sat down with me, which was very welcomed so i wasnt at a table by myself. we got to chatting and they were from Tokyo and here to see as many of the new shows this season they could. They ended up asking if i could take a picture with them which means my head was inflated because of my star power (haha) the night was fun and i even got up the guts to sing (Good Morning Baltimore) and i love how friendly the crowd always is there and helpful in my hard time following the music, and i they gave me some awesome back up vocals... defiantely the favorite time i have ever had the guts to sing because it was just so much fun! i lvoe the MS... i just think i maybe shouldnt go as much because of how late i stay up then i pay for it on saturday... but i wont stop because i have too much fun and hopefully sasha will come next week!

Day 224/365 (March 30, 2009)

i didn't get much sleep and ate a ton of the yummiest purple grapes (ok technically red but i call em purple) ever!  i also watched lots of TV... then finally i got ready for the day and headed over to Lincoln Center to see The Music Of Bobby Cronin.

i met mark outside and we headed in to wait in line and get out of the cold, eventually carina came in and joined us. slowly everyone else started to trickeled in. (Krysta, Michelle, Lynette, Michelle, diane, karolina, nicole.)  Mark and i had run into andrew as he was leaving sound check, and then we all saw michael come in but logan was with him so i chatted with him for a bit. eventually we all went in and took seats in the front.

I had never heard of Bobby Cronin before and just knew that there were a ton of people that i love to see perform participating in it. Aside from the people who were all great let me tell you he is such a talented song writer! i enjoyed each of the songs very much, especially the understudy song and music from BRATT Camp. Michelle, Nicole, and I were maybe going to leave during part of it to go to something else but shortly before the time we were going to leave i had decided i wanted to stay and continue hearing the songs which was a great decision!

they were just really well written, played, and performed! the host guy was funny because he kept referring to in the heights as into the heights. The first song of the evening was sung by michael kadin craig, andrew call, marcus paul james, and jared gertner... i was quite excited because they are some of my favorite performers and i was like 3 of my favorite shows are being represented on stage (note that MPJ represented Rent for me). then michael sang another song, and andrew ended up in two more, and kate pazakis did some killer vocals and it was nice seeing her sing again since i had been absent from mostly sondheim for so long!

afterwards the group of us chatted for a bit and eventually parted ways, i was about to go home when mark was like lets do something so we walked down to vynl and i got the BLT sandwich again, and then we headed to TOL and enjoyed part of open mic night before heading our seperate ways.

Day 61/365 (October 18, 2008)

Everyone under the sun was going to The After Party (my usual friday night activity) for Hunter and Susan from [tos]. I wanted to go to Mostly Sondheim to see Marty sing. Not only am i proud of myself for going by myself... i am so happy i did because seriously the other hosts Kate Pazakis and Brian Nash are crazily talented and funny... i may have replaced The AFter Party... shhh!
